SendHeron - Email Automation for SaaS Without the Enterprise Tax
I needed event-triggered lifecycle email for my SaaS and every tool either lacked the primitives or priced like enterprise software. So I built SendHeron.

Why I Created SendHeron?
SendHeron started as an internal tool. I needed lifecycle email for PostFast: trial activation sequences, win-backs, cancel saves, all triggered by what users actually do. Every mainstream platform I tried either lacked the primitives (real event triggers, condition branches, tags as first-class citizens) or locked them behind enterprise pricing that makes no sense for a bootstrapped SaaS.
So I built my own. It ran PostFast's email quietly for months, and at some point I realized the tool was the product. That is how SendHeron became its own thing.
What It Does
SendHeron is email automation built for how SaaS products actually work:
- Event-triggered sequences: flows start from product events (signed up, trial started, account connected), not from CSV imports or calendar dates.
- A visual sequence builder with real branching: condition checks, delays, and tag-based exits, so users who already did the thing never get the email asking them to do it.
- Transactional and marketing separation: marketing mail carries proper one-click unsubscribe and respects opt-outs, transactional mail keeps flowing. Compliance is the default, not a checkbox.
- Honest analytics: delivery and click numbers that reconcile with what your provider actually reports. I have been burned by dashboards that invent their own reality, so this one does not.
- An API for everything: contacts, tags, events, enrollment, transactional sends. Built API-first because that is where all software is heading.
If you want to see the thinking behind it, I wrote up the five sequences every SaaS needs and how customer onboarding emails should work on the SendHeron blog.
Who It Is For
Bootstrapped and small SaaS teams that want Customer.io-class lifecycle automation without the enterprise tax. If your product emits events and your revenue depends on activation, trials, and churn, this is built for you.
